Our National Treasures through the eyes of children
DESCRIPTION
"Our national treasures through the eyes of children" is a two years cross-curricular project that consists on learning about the different Unesco heritage or similar heritage from the different countries involved in the project. All our pre-primary and primary students will become more respectful and aware of the heritage of each country. We are living in a society that is in a continuous change and we have to transmit our students the importance of preserving our national treasures in order to understand the history of each country and contribute to make the world a better place. Cultural heritage belongs to all, and everybody has to learn and promote its own country's heritage, not only for educational purposes, but with an economic scope as well.
GOALS
-Develop European citizenship by knowing each other.
-Learn about the world heritage of our country.
-Learn about the history and geography of each country.
-Become respectful with other European countries and history.
-Become aware of UNESCO heritage.
-Acceptance of refugees and better understanding of the similarities in culture.
-Further development of digital skills.
All our school community will benefit of this project and all cross-curricular subjects will be involved but we will develop mainly the creativity and ICT skills. Students will have the opportunity to use new technologies and create presentations in various forms (e.g. blog, e-newspaper etc) and act as their own country's ambassador during the mobilities. What’s more, students will be in contact with other students thanks to skype and the Etwinning platform and will become familiar as to how to use them to disseminate the project's outcomes.
